Being stressed is fun, I guess

I’m gonna start off strong and honest: The last four years have been the worst years of my life. I am very confident that it can only get better from here. Journalism has been a small light amongst depression-induced suffer-trucks but also sometimes journalism was one of those suffer-trucks and ran me over at a shocking 125 mph.

What I’m trying to say is that everything is stressful. Literally nothing is absolutely stress free and we all just have to live with that. If you’re negative, and can’t change yourself, then you have to learn coping skills or else you’ll lose your gourd.

For instance, I’m negative, so I have trouble finding joy in anything at all, but I cope by confronting things that upset me or just writing stuff like this. Journalism has helped me cope quite a lot through high school, and has brought me friendships I never thought I’d have.

I know I talked about how stressful journalism is, but I honestly will miss it and all the people in it. I’ll miss writing for this paper and all the fun I had during first period. I have no idea what I will do now that I’m graduating, honestly. This was sort of my only hobby.

I look forward to reading all of next year’s issues of the newspaper from the newspaper staff that I know and those that I don’t. It’s been a stellar year, my friends, but I’m absolutely ready to get out of here. Thank you everyone who read my stories or helped me write them.
