Terroristic threat and disturbing the peace

A North Platte High School freshman is facing charges for making terroristic threats and disturbing the peace on Thursday, October 15. According to School Resource Officer J. Johnson, the 15-year-old male student had a verbal altercation with another NPHS student during first period in one of the first-floor learning centers.  Later that day, Johnson said the student engaged in another verbal dispute, this time threatening a teacher. His arraignment is set for November 18.

 

Theft

The North Platte Police said a NPHS sophomore girl reported six Nintendo DS gaming cartridges stolen from her backpack during 4th period on October 9.  Johnson said she left her bag in art room 1539 to work on a project, but noticed the games missing when she returned. Possession of tobacco

A NPHS boy was charged for possession of tobacco. Johnson said he was allegedly smoking cigarettes in the boys’ bathroom on Monday, October 12. Possession of tobacco is a class V misdemeanor and carries penalty of a minimum of a $100 fine and mandatory participation in a diversion program. NPHS is a state ordered tobacco free-zone.
