ASVAB

For most juniors and seniors, there is one thing wreaking havoc on our brains. No, not Prom. One word and possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt– college. What if there was another option, though? Something that cut that debt in half or made it disappear completely? There is, and it’s probably an option you’ve never considered before; the military.

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a military test that most people are suggested to take. It is a general knowledge/aptitude test that includes 225 questions, and takes 2.5 hours to complete. It lets the military and you know where you would be best placed and what job best fits your knowledge. The minimum score is about a 31 for most branches, but a higher score could put you in the running for great scholarships. If you’re interested in exploring your options, you can take the test at North Platte High School.
