Student council is going for four wins in a row. The Light up the Night run is taking place on March 18, at Cody Park. Light up the Night goes to sponsor the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Make-a-Wish is an organization that supports kids with life-threatening illnesses. Student councils across Nebraska raise money to support this institution while having friendly competition with the other high schools around the state. Light up the Night is original to NPHS, and it has consistently brought in funds since it was started in 2013. The school that brings in the most money, is awarded a plaque and acknowledged as the top fundraising school in the state.  The North Platte High School student council has won this competition three years in a row. “Last year we only won by $22,”Student council adviser Kirk Livingston said, “We need the Bulldogs to show up, I’d like to see lot’s of students out there to support this great cause.”
