On a Roll at State
You’re reading this right, it’s another article on how North Platte High has made it to state once again. But it’s not the typical sports article, this time it’s something less talked about, but still a big part of our school– bowling. This year has been a great year for all sports, but bowling has brought a lot of attention lately.
Junior Chelsea Pine has been bowling for 13 years, and with three years of state now under her belt, she has high expectations for the next year to come. “I was raised around it because my parents did it; I just fell in love with it from the start,” said Pine. “I expect all the girls to show who they’re made of, and with them placing third in the state this year, they’re already preparing for next year.” Pine explained how they already have an advantage for next year, “We’re not losing any of our girls, other teams are losing most of their players because they’re seniors. If we keep working hard, I could see us at finals again.”
Junior Kaylynn Kissinger was also one to grow up in bowling. “I loved it from the start, it’s something I’m good at, and I plan on continuing with it for as long as I can.,” she said. Kissinger said their coach, Bill Fuller, is a big part with the team. “Yes, he’s our coach, but honestly, it’s like a family. He’s always there, willing to help us with our problems,” said Kissinger.
“Placing third in state was an accomplishment for us, but next year we plan on doing even better. We just need more concentration and persistence,” said Fuller. “We’re already discussing what we’re going to do different at practices next year,” Pine said.

As a member of the bowling team this year I find this article to be very good. I also think that it is great that the girls bowling team is finally getting some recognition. Great article.

It’s so good to see people doing well in something they love to do. I really like how this article was written it really feels like you can feel her emotion like she’s talking and she is also very polite which is something we dont see anymore when it comes to sports.
