This is the second year the Skills USA has put on the cars and craft show. This year the show landed
on August 31st. There were 20 booths and 18 vendors in his years. The Cars and crafts shows are not
something they plan in one day. The students and advisers plan for months. “We started planning as
soon as we finished last year’s event. Making idea changes to make the event run smoother. We took the
feedback from last year’s vendors to have the option of having a booth inside or outside” said advisor
Nathaniel Foster. During the show there was voting, there were four categories, people’s choice, high
school, first responders’ choice, and NPHS SkillsUSA choice.

The students and community helped raise can and money to go towards “Canned food was for the
school pantry”Foster said “We raised about $2,600 between Craft registration, Car registration, Sack
lunches, Silent Auction Items, and Donations.
”Our total for canned food items was 201 items. We also collected $60 cash donations for the Food pan-
try as well.” said Zogg This year the Skills team decided to work on some advertisements. They created a
North Platte SkillsUSA Facebook page and a 2024 Cars and Crafts Facebook event page. They also hung
up flyers and signs around town. ALl the flyers were designed by Brandon Petreson and printedby Me-
lissa Romero.
Terri Berchell with the NPPS Foundation arranged for a couple of radio interviews with Cannon Rath
at Eagle Radio. They also funded to create a commercial ad that ran for the two weeks prior to the
event. Dayspring Bank’s Ag Lender Noah Harvey took charge of securing the sponsorship from Day-
spring Bank to supply Hamburgers and Hotdogs to be grilled for sack lunch. Noah secured help from
Mike Honerman and Stacey Foster to assist with the grilling of the lunch. The NPHS Custodial Staff
did an outstanding job helping have the facilities prepared and helped everywhere they could before,
during, and after the event.
