Coach Altig presents Kolten Tilford the Westside game ball at the fall pep rally on Oct. 20.

Staff Report

Many football teams award the game ball to their most-deserving player. Usually that player is on the same team.

However, weeks after the NPHS-Westside game, senior Kolten Tilford was awarded the game ball from Omaha Westside.

The Warriors mailed the ball to NPHS and Tilford was presented the ball by NPHS Head Coach Kurt Altig at the fall pep rally on Oct. 20.

This is the first time Altig has experienced something like this.

“It was a shock and Kolten was very deserving,” he said.

NPHS Activities Director Jimmie Rhodes is proud of the entire team.

“For a student to win an award from another school goes to show you what type of program that Coach Altig is running,” he said.
