North Platte High School has a tradition that goes back pretty far by having a senior night to celebrate those seniors in sports and activities. “I was a part of senior night when I was in school,” Activities Director Jimmie Rhodes said. “It’s been around forever.”

Cross country had their senior night during the Omaha Westside game on Sept. 30.

“It was awesome to get to have the seniors recognized. We had 13 seniors run this year and were all great leaders for the team,” head coach Jake Hasenauer said.

“They’ve put in the work for four years and it was good to see them recognized at the home football game,” he added. “We will miss them next year and appreciate all they have done for the program.”

Softball had theirs during their games against Grand Island High School on Sept. 26.

“It was a great honor to recognize the hard work and time these seniors have put into this program and the legacy that they leave behind,” Head coach Jeff Barner said.

Tennis and football seniors were recognized the football game against Papillion-La Vista, while band had their senior night at the Norfolk football game along with girls’ golf.

Volleyball seniors were recognized on Oct. 13 in the Dawg Pound.

“I think that it’s an opportunity for them to get recognized for the efforts that are put in through the seasons,” Rhodes said.
