Coach John Lehmer has come back from Kansas City to coach the North Platte Bulldog tennis team. The tennis season is going really well,” said junior Austin Snyder, Lehmer’s taking it back to the basics, forehands, backhands, and smooth slices. The team has seen a boost in the JV team’s skill and in overall team confidence. The whole group likes “King Julian’s” coaching style. “We call coach King Julian because his name is Lehmer and it’s pretty funny,” said Snyder. He gets a little bit salty about being compared to the Madagascar lemur.

Senior Andrew Freeze, juniors Snyder, Branton Flanders, and Derrick Burge, sophomore Bryce Lee, and freshman Avery Munson make up the varsity team. The JV squad’s top four is mostly set, whereas the last two spots are by committee. At this point, with GNAC coming up, the Varsity is in full preparation for the tournament and State to follow.
