Acting out
The North Platte High School Drama Department has been hard at work perfecting their One-Act performance of Bible Camp: The Musical. The cast of twenty young actors and actresses have been practicing their play for months now, and are beginning to see the results. Over the past few weeks, the One-Act’s team has gotten third, fourth, and fifth place. They have also had several members nominated for awards including junior Nirvana Mendoza, who won best supporting actress at the Gothenburg competition. “I was already home when I found out and then I started to cry,” Mendoza said. She later recalled when she came to school the next week she spilled water all over the Play Director David Cooper’s desk trying to get her medal. Reflecting on the season thus far, junior Kinzey Cooper stated, “I’ve really enjoyed traveling this season and getting to perform our show in front of people.” Their last competition, Districts, will take place on Dec. 3rd at Millard North.
