Boys tennis had their first matches on August 31st in McCook. They also played their first home game on September 12th. Brett Pfeifer senior and Braxton Songster senior are duos partners. Pfeifer knew some people were playing and decided to give it a try “I had a couple friends that played and I wanted to try it out.” Everyone has goals, Pfeifer’s goals for this season are to “get better and have fun.” Pfeifer is not the only one with goals for the season, his duos partner Songster goals are to get better and maybe win a couple matches. Songster started playing because “My friend got me into tennis.” Mrs.Godfrey the assistant coach “started coaching intramural volleyball at Adams Middle School. Last year was my first season coaching girls tennis and this fall is my first time coaching boys tennis. “ For Godfrey she doesn’t just coach to coach. She has a “Deep passion for the sport and a genuine desire to help others develop their skills and confidence.Witnessing the progress and growth of my players. There are a lot of highs and lows to coaching.” For Godfrey, her favorite part about coaching is that “It’s incredibly rewarding to see them develop their skills, gain confidence, and achieve their goals, both on and off the court. “ And her least favorite parts include “dealing with setbacks, such as when a player becomes discouraged after a tough loss. It’s difficult to see someone struggle, especially when they’ve worked hard.”
