Following the homecoming parade, North Platte High School Booster Club president Abbie Pack announced the homecoming king and queen.
Senior Levi Luenenborg is involved in many school activities. He made homecoming court and once there, decided to put in an effort and see if he could make the best out of it. He enjoyed being on court and talking to the other contestants that made it.
“I think it was the most fun I had,” Luenenborg said.
Luenenborg is involved in a long list of activities, currently tennis, marching band, Blue and Gold singers, and he is going to try out for jazz band.
He is in band and choir and also is part of student council and NHS. Winning came as a surprise for Luenenborg.
“It’s almost like the same feeling of having your name drawn at a raffle,” Luenenborg said.
He has made a lot of good memories and those were after school hours and after activities are done. Hanging out with the friends he has made makes him realize he has made good choices.
“You’re here now because you’re who you are,” Luenenborg said.
He thinks that it is one the most gratifying, best feelings he’s ever had. Lastly Levi Luenenborg has high hopes for his senior year.
Ellie Blakely is also a senior at North Platte High School. She was nominated and picked for homecoming court, so when she found out she was very surprised. During the homecoming prep rally, Blakely won homecoming queen.
When she won, she felt happy and excited. Soccer, basketball, student council, and National Honors Society are all the things she participates in.
Spending time with her friends through sports has been her favorite high school memory. Being on homecoming court was a fun experience and she was glad she was able to have it.
